What Is Moweekend ?

Moweekend is a package holiday produced by City Management srl a company based in Milan. The format is a new and different way to spend your holiday. Over a weekend people who purchase the tourist pack get together on the set of a cinema production and create a dramatic fiction in three days which will be filmed.
This is an innovative approach to creating an audiovisual product .It’s a new way to turn your holiday into a creative dramatic experience. Each tourist will be an actor. Each will be given a screen-play without dialogue (i.e the outline of the plot, its development and its conclusion) and their role. The Moweekend organisation emphasizes that the dialogue will be improvised and unrehearsed. This will make the film more entertaining because it encourages the creativity of the tourist-actors. For example, in the past the actors have made valuable suggestions for the development of the story. In this process the tourist-actors begin to feel themselves an integral part of the dramatic creation. A high level of friendly competition develops, marked however by the common objective: to have fun.

Moweekend is not only an original way to spend a holiday but also gives each person the chance to experience his “15 minutes of fame” described by Andy Warhol. It is also an exciting way to recruit new talent for cinema and TV production and the tourism industry .
Our troupe is made up of about 20 people (all Sicilians) who together are responsible for all aspects of the production: direction, screen-play, shooting, editing, direction of photography, sound, make up, set decorator, etc.

The purpose of Moweekend is to create several production units initially in different locations in Sicily. We hope to expand to other areas soon. Sicily is an ideal setting for these stories, because of its natural beauty and climate. It’s a perfect way to combine tourism and cinematic production.

Tourists that have taken part in this extraordinary experience have the most disparate jobs in their everyday lives. They come from varied backgrounds and are of all ages from 3 months to 90 years.

Becoming actors for one day or better for one weekend is a thrilling experience for everybody. It’s fun for those who would like to make a career in the world of cinema or TV as well as for people that want an unusual holiday of relaxation and fun.
